Use of a meat thermometer

Before use, check that the thermometer functions correctly. Dip the tip into boiling water. If the temperature reading rises up to 100 degrees Celcius, the thermometer functions correctly.

Insert the probe into the thickest part of the meat, but not touching the bone.

  • A feather-shaped thermometer suits for cooking both in oven and in kettle.
  • A thermometer with a dial can only be used in oven.
  • A digital thermometer can be used for cooking on stove or in oven. The cable comes out of the oven and the temperature can be read without opening the oven door. These types can be set to sound an alarm when the specified temperature is reached
