Organic means that the product is natural. Only products that have used natural methods in their production can use the organic product label. The system is also controlled.
Organic products are based on international rules and national guidelines or various production guidelines of organic associations are also followed in different countries. Organic products are always controlled by the authorities. Organic production is monitored from the farm right through to packaging. The controls are based on annual inspections on organic farms and in companies manufacturing and preparing organic products.
Organic labels give consumers an assurance of the origin and
quality of the products. In addition to official control labels,
organic products may also have voluntary organic labels, which
accounts for why there are several types of labels. All organic
products comply with the requirements specified under the EU’s
regulation on organic production irrespective of the various
labels.
